iPhone Companion Overview

What you can do in Beagle on iPhone

The iPhone app is a practice companion, not a second workstation. It covers time, clients, contacts, matters, tasks, expenses, billing and reports; the deeper Mac tools stay on the Mac.

Beagle on iPhone is a companion to the Mac app. It is built for the work you do between desks โ€” capturing time, checking a matter, adding an expense โ€” rather than for running the whole practice from a phone.

#What is on iPhone

The home screen opens onto these modules:

  • Time Entries โ€” the live timer and manual entries
  • Clients
  • Contacts
  • Matters
  • Tasks
  • Expenses
  • Invoices
  • Reports
  • Settings

Each module supports searching, so you can find a client, matter, invoice or entry without scrolling.

Your firm is shown on the home screen, and if you belong to more than one firm you can confirm which one you are working in.

#What stays on the Mac

The iPhone app intentionally does not include:

  • the full matter workspace tabs (documents, evidence, litigation, discovery, communications, medical providers)
  • the trust ledger
  • conflict checking
  • AI features โ€” the AI Notepad, Matter Intelligence, AI provider settings
  • admin tools โ€” audit review, retention review, the diagnostics dashboard
  • the CSV import wizard

The matter editor on iPhone shows the core fields. Opening the same matter on a Mac gives you the full workspace.

#What to watch for

  • Work syncs, it does not stream. Changes sync to your firm's other devices after they are made rather than instantly on demand. If something has not appeared yet, leave both apps open for a moment.
  • Confirm the firm before you record time. If you belong to more than one firm, check which one is selected.
  • A lapsed subscription applies here too. Beagle switches to export-only mode on every platform, not just the Mac.
